ips expands its management board
Niedernberg, 14.01.2020. As of 1 January, 2020 the next generation has joined the management board at ips Intelligent Pelletizing Solutions GmbH & Co. KG. Alongside the founder, Gerald Weis, his sons Julian and Simon are now also responsible for the management of the company.
Following successful completion of his studies at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences with a Master’s Degree in Engineering, specialising in Plastics Technology, and four years working in the area of applications engineering with a Swiss polymer manufacturer, Simon Weis (30) joined ips in 2017.
One year later, he was joined by Julian Weis (32). He too has a Master’s Degree in Engineer specialising in Plastics Technology, and spent three years working as a processing engineer on the support and optimisation of production systems and components.
While Gerald Weis will primarily look after the company’s strategic orientation and sales, his son Simon will be responsible for product management for underwater pelletizing systems and process development. Julian Weis will bear responsibility for project management, purchasing and materials management.
With the expansion of management responsibility to now rest on three sets of shoulders, the company’s sustainability and knowledge base are to be strengthened. At the same time, space is created for growth and innovation.
