Even higher throughput due to special perforated plate design

Niedernberg, 31.05.2022. RSH POLYMERE GmbH, Hamburg, has commissioned an underwater pelletizing system from ips Intelligent Pelletizing Solutions GmbH & Co KG. The underwater pelletizing system of the type ips-UWG 120 S is used to process a highly viscous polyolefin.

RSH POLYMERE has been active in the field of plastics recycling for over 60 years and is now in its third generation. The company produces high-quality regranulates and compounds on a recyclate basis, from clean production waste from the plastics processing industry and also from used waste from trade and industry. They are primarily in demand from customers in the automotive, construction, consumer goods and packaging industries who are looking for production and applications with more sustainable raw materials.

RSH has commissioned an ips-UWG 120 S underwater pelletizing system to expand its production capacity for very highviscosity polyolefin. In doing so, it was important to the recycling specialist that the system achieves a throughput of 3 tonnes per hour. ips was able to achieve this thanks to a special die plate designed specifically for this polymer family. In addition, a newly developed size of the ips-GT 3000/3 pellet dryer was used. The ips-GT 3000/3 is characterised in particular by low residual moisture of the end product, short cleaning and setup times and a wide range of options. Due to these innovations, the maximum throughput for the ips-UWG 120 S could be increased by 20 per cent from 2.5 tonnes to 3 tonnes per hour.

"The great flexibility in engineering and the targeted, fast implementation of our individual requirements as well as the high quality of the granulates delivered by the ips plant convinced us. The very good ergonomic operability, the easy cleaning and maintenance of the plant are added on top," explains RSH owner and managing director Swen Draak.

The ips-UWG 120 S is particularly suitable for the production of spherical granules of thermo-plastic material in raw material production, the masterbatch and compounding industry as well as for recycling plants. Thanks to its modular design, the ips-UWG 120 S can be specially adapted to the customer's applications and requirements, from individual parts to complete solutions. "The customer gets our plants exactly as he needs them," says Simon Weis, ips Managing Director. "For example, the ips-UWG 120 S was specially designed for RSH POLYMERE GmbH for the recycling of high-viscosity polyolefin."
