Even higher throughput due to special perforated plate design

Niedernberg, 27.04.2023. ips Intelligent Pelletizing Solutions GmbH & Co. KG not only manufactures pelletizing systems for the plastics industry, especially for plastics recycling, but now also produces its own electricity for its entire own needs and beyond. This is made possible by the photovoltaic system that has just been put into operation at the company's headquarters in Niedernberg.

"The photovoltaic system is an essential part of our sustainable energy concept, with which we are moving energy-efficiently into the future," says Gerald Weis, ips Managing Director. In November 2022, 186 solar modules with an area of around 340 sqm were installed on the roof of the assembly hall in Niederberg, which have now started producing electricity.

In addition to supplying the assembly hall, technical centre and offices with green electricity, the e-company vehicles and vehicles of customers and employees can also be "refuelled" ecologically and sustainably via two charging stations installed on the company premises.

The total output of the PV system is around 70,000 kWh per year. However, ips only consumes 30,000 kWh per year, so that the mechanical engineering company will be able to supply itself with electricity in the future. "Since every kilowatt hour of photovoltaic electricity generated in Germany currently avoids 627 grams of carbon dioxide, we as ips are making a sustainable contribution with our system to saving around 40 tonnes of CO2 per year," Gerald Weis also emphasises the environmental aspect of the future-oriented investment. The PV plant was built by ips completely without subsidies.
