KG is the only medium-sized family-owned company in Germany to offer not only individual components but also complete plants for compounding and recycling applications from a single source - from planning and construction to commissioning. This is now made possible by the addition of co-rotating twin-screw extruders (DSE) to the ips product portfolio.

In addition to the ips products that have been successfully introduced to the market so far, whether strand pelletizing systems for dry and wet cutting, underwater pelletizing systems or complete systems for the production of long-fibre-reinforced thermoplastics, the machine manufacturer from Lower Franconia is now taking another big step. With immediate effect, it is rounding off its product range with a co-rotating twin-screw extruder, the ips-DSE, which is characterised by its intelligent system design and robust and reliable elements.

The facts

Especially in plastics production, excellent and perfectly coordinated process technology is essential for the highest quality results. An essential component here, in addition to the other components, is the co-rotating twin-screw extruder, which ips offers in five different sizes from 32 to 90 mm screw diameter and with the corresponding peripherals. The ips-DSE twin-screw extruder series achieves maximum throughput rates with consistently high product quality. The lines offer maximum flexibility thanks to their modular design, extensive accessories and numerous features. An excellent combination of torque and volume enables a high filling level of the screw as well as energy-saving and product-friendly processing.

The ips-DSE is clearly laid out, easily accessible and simple to operate. This ensures fast product changes. Pellets or fillers, powder or fibres are fed into the processing section of the twin-screw extruder via co-rotating, tightly intermeshing side feeders. For fast and effective cleaning, they can be detached from the processing section in just a few steps.

The ips-DSE is particularly suitable for recycling applications, regranulation and compounding tasks. In combination with the ips complete system ips-LFT HP, products can also be manufactured from long-fibre reinforced thermoplastics.

For practical use

In the course of the development of the twin-screw extruder ips-DSE, ips has significantly expanded its technical centre and invested 500,000 euros for this purpose. Customer trials can now be carried out here on an ips-DSE 60 with a screw diameter of 60 mm and two side feeders.
